It's hard to believe ten years have passed since I made the video with some snapshots of Ali's life to commemorate her 60th birthday.
The song "One in a million" by The Christians now always reminds me of Ali. A couple of years ago I went to see the 1980s group, who are still performing and touring, when they were in Wimborne, Dorset. They played virtually all their well-known hits but for whatever reason they omitted this one.
I visited Ali's grave today and remembered the many people whose lives she touched - her family and her many friends, and many who hardly knew her but greatly appreciated her. I thought of those for whom she worked so hard - especially those who are unborn or otherwise marginalised. I particularly remembered the many children in India - now grown into adulthood - for whom she had a mother's love. Today is a day for giving thanks to God for the gift of Ali.
